Sour Pasta Party Build Finished!

Summer busyness put the bike on the back burner for a bit but I finally finished the wheels and got it all together.

Parts not covered in the previous post include an Absolute Black 18t cog, SRAM CLX 180mm (front) and 160mm (rear) rotors, Race Face Chester pedals, and Schwalbe 29×2.35 tires, Hans Dampf front and Rock Razor rear. It weighs in at just over 26lbs.

But how’s it ride?

In Sour’s lineup the bike slots in between their gravel bike and their 130mm hardtail; an XC bike for the local woods. I’m in northeastern MA and it’s well suited to our local trails, which are tight and twisty, rooty and rocky, with lots of up and down. As you might expect given the geometry it’s not a super rowdy bike but more subtle. Balanced? It likes to put down the miles though it’s happy to wheelie.
