For a while now I've wanted a small bag for times when I want to take a camera with 1 or 2 lenses. While my Domke F-6 is great when I want a 3-4 lenses, a flash, batteries, and other junk, it can be overkill for a trip into town. I liked the size of the Domke F-5XB but wasn't sure I wanted to pay its price for a bag that may see limited use. I figured I could do nearly as well with a small canvas shoulder bag. I found one at an Army Navy surplus store for $11 that seemed promising. It measures about 12" wide, 8.5" tall, and 4" deep. In the main pocket I can fit the 10D with the 17-40/4 attached and 70-200/4. There are two small pockets in front that can be used to hold batteries and other small items, a small zippered pouch in the main pocket that my iPod fits in perfectly, and on the back there's a full length zippered pocket.

Not suprisingly the bag has no padding - it's just a canvas bag. I'm planning on lining the inside of the bag with loop velcro. This will make it easy to add padded dividers to the bag and give the bag a little more structure.
